Erin Fiegel, ASLA, is a Senior Associate with Hitchcock Design Group.  She received her Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from the University of Illinois in 2001.  Since joining Hitchcock Design Group, she has worked in both their Urban Design and Recreation Studios, working on such notable and award winning projects as The Morton Arboretum Children's Garden, Neenah Waterfront Master Plan, Roosevelt Park Educational Signage, and Techny Prairie Park.  Erin now works in the Marketing Studio overseeing collateral resources, advertising, photography, website, and awards preparation.  She has previously served the ILASLA Chapter as Awards Chair from 2003-2005.  Recently serving as Internal Communications Chair, Erin has overseen membership communications, including Dispatch, which went electronic in 2007 as a cost-saving and environmentally responsible alternative.  She and her committee developed the Student Outreach Vision to strengthen relations between ILASLA and regional student chapters in the hopes of raising awareness, fostering young professionals, and ultimately increasing the chapter membership.  As President, she is committed to continuing to build those relationships with students and young professionals, encouraging participation in the chapter and its many exciting initiatives.  Looking ahead, Erin is focused on supporting the licensure efforts and representing the Chapter as we host the 2009 ASLA Conference.

Greg Stevens, ASLA

Greg Stevens is Senior Park Planner with the Fox Valley Park District, located in Aurora, Illinois.  Prior to working with the park district, he was vice president of the Lannert Group.  Greg attended Purdue University where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Landscape Architecture 1981 and a Master of Science degree in Transportation and Urban Engineering in 1983.  He is also a licensed landscape architect in both Illinois and Texas.  Throughout his professional career, Greg has partnered on nationally recognized, award winning projects including; Prairie Crossing (Grayslake, Illinois);  Frito-Lay national headquarters (Plano, Texas); Xerox national headquarters (Las Colinas, Texas);  and The Colonnade (San Antonio Texas.)   Between 1993 and 2003 he served on the Events and Education Committees for the ILASLA.  He presently serves as an alumni advisor to the Landscape Architecture Department at Purdue University. Greg is co-chairman of the Share Angel Garden Committee at Good Samaritan Hospital where he was awarded the Illinois ASLA Community Service Award for his donated design services and construction management of a healing garden remembering infants lost to miscarriage, still birth and neo-natal death, which includes two children of his own. Greg has been married to his wife Joan for 21 years and has two young children, Kaylie and Kyle who keep him quite busy.  Originally from Indianapolis, Greg moved to the Chicago area in 1986 and has lived in Homer Glen for the past 9 years where he has served on the Environment and Open Space Task Force helping guide the village’s planning efforts as it moved towards incorporation.

Tony Quinn, ASLA, is a partner with Culliton Quinn Landscape Architecture Workshop in Chicago.  He received an Associates degree in Architecture from Illinois Central College in 1991 and a Bachelors of Landscape Architecture from the University of Illinois in 1994.  Tony is a licensed Landscape Architect in Illinois, Indiana, and Michigan and is CLARB certified.  He is a member of Green Roofs for Healthy Cities and is currently seeking certification on rooftop design, engineering, and conservation technologies.  Since Culliton Quinn’s inception in 2004, Tony has partnered on projects located from the East coast to the Midwest, including high-end residential design, historic landscape preservation, recreational design, and urban design.  As Treasurer, he manages all accounts of income from Chapter sponsored events and publications, to the expenses of the Marketing Committee and legislative efforts for the state licensure Practice Act in Springfield.  Tony looks forward to collaborating with the Executive Committee to creatively develop new goals to bring the growing profession into an ever-increasing level of public awareness.

Joel Baldin, ASLA, is a Senior Associate with Hitchcock Design Group and has been practicing landscape architecture since 1993.  He has a Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana, and an Associate degree in Civil Engineering Technology from Purdue University in Hammond, Indiana.  Joel is a licensed Landscape Architect in both Illinois and Indiana.  As a Senior Associate with Hitchcock Design Group, Joel manages all phases of projects from planning and programming through construction administration.  Joel’s project experience includes streetscape and plaza design, parks and recreation, historic landscape rehabilitation, college and university campuses, commercial real estate, and multi-family housing.  Joel is a resident of Chicago and works in Hitchcock Design Group’s Chicago office.  As well as being a member of the Executive Committee for the last two years, Joel is actively involved in both his neighborhood's park advisory board and zoning board. As Secretary, Joel maintains the records of the Chapter, its calendar of events and helps keep the membership informed and up-to-date with the decisions of the Executive Committee.

Keven Graham , ASLA

Keven Graham, ASLA, is a Principal with Planning Resources Inc. in Wheaton.  Keven received his Associates degree in Architectural Construction Technologies from Illinois Central College and his Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from Iowa State University.  A registered landscape architect in Illinois and Iowa, he has served the Illinois Chapter of ASLA in numerous positions including President.  Keven is the 2008 recipient the Iowa State University Design Achievement Award for Landscape Architecture. He is also one of the founding officers of the ASLA Sustainable Design & Development professional practice network and continues to work with the development of the Sustainable Sites Initiative.  He has donated his time in the promotion of this highly important tool and the promotion of the profession. Keven has a thorough understanding of ASLA, it governance and staff that will allow him to advance key issues and objectives of the Illinois Chapter and its members to the society.  The Illinois Chapter has a long and strong history of chapter representation and leadership in ASLA through the hard work of its past representatives and Trustees, Keven looks forward to continuing that effort for the benefit of our members and the profession.

James Gamble, ASLA, is a partner in the firm Land Design Collaborative, Inc., which is an award winning LA firm celebrating its 20th year in 2006.  He received his Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from the University of Michigan.  Jim is a registered Landscape Architect with CLARB Certification and is registered in Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio.  Jim was deeply involved in the pursuit of licensure of landscape architects in Illinois during the late 1980’s and served on the Illinois Department of Professional Regulations Board of Landscape Architects during the 1990’s.  He has over ten years of previous Illinois Chapter Executive Committee experience, serving in a number of capacities, including Chapter President and past President in the early 1990’s.   He is committed to the profession of Landscape Architecture and the development of strong collaboration among landscape architects and other design professionals, particularly architects, planners and engineers.

Dean MacMorris, ASLA, has been the Vice President of Night Light, Inc. for more than 8 years. Night Light is a unique, top quality, full service landscape illumination company. Dean has a degree in landscape architecture, ornamental horticulture and is a registered landscape architect in the state of Illinois. He has more than 15 years experience in the landscape industry as a project manager and sales & marketing manager for Mariani Landscape, Tecza Environmental Group, and The Brickman Group.  Dean has been privileged to be a speaker at Mid Am Horticultural Trade Show, The University of Illinois, Morton Arboretum, Purdue University, Illinois Turfgrass Foundation and the Bartlett Tree Experts Symposium. Maelo Maldonado , ASLA

Maelo Maldonado, ASLA, is currently an associate with Hoerr Schaudt Landscape Architects and has been practicing landscape architecture since 1996.  He received his Bachelors of Science in Landscape Architecture from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana.  Maelo is involved in all aspects of the projects, from planning, design development, documentation, permitting, and construction observation.  Early in his career, he had a strong focus in park and recreation, but since joining Hoerr Schaudt, as a member of the Commercial Team, he has been able to broaden his horizons with campus master planning, high end residential, parks, and private and commercial roof gardens, both domestic and international work in nature.  Maelo has been involved with ILASLA since 1998, as a member of the Awards Committee, which he chaired for two years.  He is currently an instructor at the Chicago Botanic Gardens, focusing in expanding the use of CAD as a tool of design in the green industry and has been guest lecturer at Northwestern University Landscape Design Program.  As External Communications Chair, he manages all chapter external communications like Elevation and Folio which are distributed, both in the private and public sector, all over the country.

Susan Sevcik, Associate ASLA, is a landscape designer at Mariani Landscape in Lake Bluff, Illinois.  She received her Bachelor of Landscape Architecture and graduate certification in Geographic Information Systems from Iowa State University.  Susan has worked on a variety of projects ranging from small commercial buildings to large scale residential design and is regularly involved in the project from conceptual design through implementation.  For the past two years, Susan has worked with the Illinois ASLA Awards Committee to help organize the Awards Banquet Celebration.

Jennifer Delgros, ASLA, received her Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture with minors in City and Regional Planning and Art History from The Ohio State University in 2006. As a student, she was involved with the Ohio chapter of ASLA and has been involved with the ILASLA since 2006. Jennifer has served as a member of the Awards Committee and was recently appointed Education Chair. Currently, she works as a landscape architect and land planning coordinator at HDR in Chicago.

Andrea Briney, Associate ASLA, relocated to Chicago from New England with a degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of Connecticut in 2005. Formerly with Hitchcock Design Group in their Naperville office, she spent her first year working within the Real Estate Development Studio, followed by just over two years within their Recreation Studio. During this time, she has taken the position as co-editor for the Illinois Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects’ monthly newsletter and, recently, the position of Internal Communications and Membership Committee Chairperson. Separately, she dedicates her time to educating and mentoring high school-aged students about the potential career opportunities landscape architecture provides. She is committed to being an advocate for the profession, both internally and externally.

Heath Wright, ASLA, is a partner at Upland Design Ltd., in Plainfield. He earned a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from the University of Illinois in 1992. Heath is a licensed landscape architect in the States of Illinois and Michigan. His landscape architecture work has been centered on public parks, forest preserves and recreation for the past 15 years, working for both public agencies and now as a principal at Upland Design. He has served on the Village of Plainfield Historic Preservation Commission since its inception in 2005. Additionally, he has volunteered with ILASLA as a publication editor and is currently assisting with the licensure efforts. He looks forward to continuing his commitment to the Chapter.

Bill is the Marketing Committee Chair for the Chapter, facilitating the committee and the approval of Marketing Committee Grant Applications. Beverly Nykiel is the Sponsorship Coordinator and Executive Director for the Chapter. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing from North Central College, in Naperville, Illinois. As sponsorship coordinator, Beverly solicits advertising and sponsorship revenue for all Chapter publications and events – presenting a single point of contact for the sponsors. As Executive Director, Beverly performs a variety of administrative tasks for the Chapter.
